Join us for the Mid-Year International Passive House Days in Santa Cruz. Two houses will be open on the west side of Santa Cruz on Saturday, June 25.

House 1:  Open 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
This 1940s cottage needed a thorough revamping, especially given its asbestos coating on all the walls. It was an ideal occasion for a deep energy Passive House makeover led by architect James Bill. Come see this in-process renovation with exposed plumbing, wiring and air sealing.
Location: 508 National Street, Santa Cruz, CA 95060

House 2: Open 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Midori Haus is an example of how a 90-year old building can be both beautiful and ultra energy efficient. Owners kept the original footprint of the 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom California bungalow originally built in 1922. During 2012 it was retrofitted to Passive House standards with the aim to combine extreme energy efficiency and comfort of Passive House with the aesthetics of Arts and Crafts style.
Location: 135 Van Ness Avenue, Santa Cruz, CA 95060
