Project Description:

This intentional community aims to demonstrate how humans can obtain more use value (e.g., home, workplace, recreational facility, social gathering space) per unit of resource depletion and environmental degradation. Normal use of 20,000 square feet is compacted down to 5,600 square feet. The home features clever use of mini-split heat pumps and ventilation systems to provide flexible zoning at a minimum of cost. A post-tensioned slab at the ground floor allows for maximum height for basement windows to allow plentiful day-lighting.
