Project Description:

This Crafstsman-style home was completed in 2013 and was designed to integrate modern and classic energy-efficiency techniques. Coupled with Passive House efficiency, the house is equipped with 18 kW of solar PV, all-electric systems, 80 kWh of battery backup, and greywater and rainwater systems for landscape and toilets. In the event of electricity and water outages, the home is self-sufficient. The homeowners also enjoy using the home as a test bench for new DIY control technologies.
