Building Carbon Zero Monterey Bay: PHCA's 2014 Annual Conference
Worried about Climate Change? Want to live in a healthy, comfortable building that doesn't create a massive impact on our planet's resources? Join us for a day of learning about What, Why and How we can move California towards the carbon reduction goals already mandated by the State of California, while increasing the health and comfort of our built environment.
PHCA will be hosting the third in our series ‘Building Carbon Zero California’ to serve jointly as our 2014 Annual Conference. The City of Santa Cruz is working closely with us on this event and Mayor Lynn Robinson will join our outstanding list of presenters to welcome you to this event. Alex Wilson of Green Building Inc. has agreed to serve as our Keynote Speaker. His award-winning work on Building Resilience focuses on how we need to modify our built environment to prepare for our changing climate. We are also pleased to be hosting Nick Grant, Technical Director of the UK Passivhaus Trust, as our international guest presenter. He will share a wealth of carbon reduction strategies gained while working on a number of schools, multi-family developments and an office building retrofit, all located in the United Kingdom. Additional presentations will include examples of local projects, developments and intiatives already treading more lightly on the planet. Presentations will be accompanied by a specially curated selection of product vendors and manufacturers who are providing the materials and equipment necessary to build these healthy, comfortable and high performance buildings.
Join us on Wednesday, March 26th, from 9.30am-4.30pm, to help define our Low Carbon Future.
