Introduction to Higher Performance Building on the Central Coast
Presented by 3C-REN | Jump into higher performance building with this introductory course addressing easy ways to design and build for safety, health and cost savings. We will review residential, multi-family and small commercial construction systems, emphasizing both design considerations and implementation in the field. Emphasis will be on the Central Coast and similar climates.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand air tightness, ventilation, and performance metrics.
- Build awareness of thermal bridging and insulation to improve efficiency.
- Be able to differentiate window specifications for daylighting and energy. performance
- Learn how to incorporate Zero Net Energy strategies through use of heat pumps and other all-electric systems.
