Mirador de Gracia: Catalonia’s first all-electric PH elderly care home (free for PHCA members)
We are starting the year with a special Project Spotlight presentation about Mirador de Gracia, in Catalonia, Spain.
Mirador de Gracia is Catalonia’s first all‑electric Passive House-certified elderly care home, showcasing how high‑performance design can transform 24/7 healthcare buildings. The project overcame major technical challenges—from airtightness and thermal bridge optimisation to efficient ventilation and an all-electric industrial kitchen—to meet Passive House requirements during construction. Join us to learn how its integrated passive and active strategies deliver year-round comfort, resilience, and low energy use for 143 residents. We will discuss design and modelling, and discuss key certification considerations and challenges.
As always, the webinar will conclude with an open Q&A, giving attendees the opportunity to explore specific aspects of the project and reflect on lessons learned.
The iPHA webinar will last approximately 90 minutes and is worth 2 Passive House Continuous Education (CEPH) credit points.
The iPHA webinar series is a member benefit and free for all iPHA members.
Non-iPHA members can access the webinar for 30 EUR.
